Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and ZenGrove, which operates CQCQ ("we", "us"). By using CQCQ you accept them.

1. Who can use CQCQ

You must be 19 or older. We may suspend accounts we reasonably believe belong to younger people.

2. How the service works

CQCQ lets you send short messages ("wires") of up to 15 words to other people. “Secret” is a feeling, not a security promise: our servers process wire text to translate it and to check it for safety, and we use third-party AI providers to do so. Do not send anything you would not want a service provider to process. Your greeting wire is shown to other people, including visitors who have not signed up, and a secret wire can be read by anyone who has its link and knows the answer. A secret wire with a lock is meant for people you know and is checked against lighter rules; a secret wire without a lock can be read by anyone with the link, so it follows the same rules as wires between strangers.

3. Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep your email account secure; you are responsible for activity on your CQCQ account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

4. Your content and conduct

You keep ownership of what you write and give us permission to store, translate, check and deliver it to the people you send it to. Do not send content that is illegal, hateful (including wishing death or harm on a group), sexual content involving minors, serious threats of violence, other people's private information, deceptive, or that infringes anyone's rights, and do not use CQCQ for spam, ads or scams. Do not send harassing or sexual content to someone who does not welcome it. In wires between strangers, contact details, requests for money and sexual content are also not allowed. We may hold, block or remove wires and suspend accounts that break these rules or that are reported by several people.

5. PLUS subscriptions

PLUS is a paid, automatically renewing subscription. Orders are processed by Polar, our Merchant of Record. Cancellation and refunds are described in the refund policy. Prices and limits may change; changes to a subscription apply from its next renewal.

6. Availability and liability

CQCQ is provided “as is”. Wires travel with an intentional delay and we do not guarantee delivery times or uninterrupted service. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
